Little Lebanon

I went to Little Lebanon last Friday..why there? cos i heard over Cats.FM * dont ask me why i listen to that station* they're having this Ramadhan promotion so each person can eat whatever they want & how much they want for RM30.

I liked the food..with the pocketed Pita bread n all..it's something different..you know what i mean? Lagipun i kinda missed the Iranian food my cousin cooked for lunch when i stayed with her for a week. I missed her Iranian bread n the way she cooked the rice Iranian style.. the meal was..of course fattening..with all the meat & butter..but it was so satisfying..so having the chance to go to Little Lebanon gave my pallete*how to spell arr* the chance to have its very own DeJavu moments. Oh & i had Kurma drink *dates' juice*, sounds yucky but it was refreshing ok.

But i wished they had the ala carte menu going on. They only serve buffet style for the month of Ramadhan. Heh... Jonathan didnt like it. =).cos somehow the ambience was different from the ones seen in pictures..nevermind..i still do like the food tho. heheh i eat everything lah. TskTSK no wonder i gain weight so fast.

p/s Gupreet would love this place..cos over here she would be able to fill her big huge lungs with Shisha smoke.=)..can't get em anywhere else in Kuching..can you?

Okay so i went to Kuching Fest last night.

& while i was walking past this stall..i heard someone "shht shht psst psst"
But i didnt care la cos i thought it's some hamsap chinese man who wants me to buy something from his stall...so i went strolling some more ....

& then i past the same stall again & found out that the 'hamsap chinese man" is actually...FLORA FAN.

So i went like.."oh it was you who went shtt shht just now isit?"

Flo: Yala you thought who? some man isit?

Me: Err ya

Flo: Eeee..sungguh tidak malu one you. Come buy my dish.

Me : Kenot..im full redi...i didnt know ure selling something. Can i take you picture? I want to show to Madeline

Flo: u gila. go away. She sed she is so malu if she see me here..memalukan only. * then she dramatically mennutup her muka*

Fine.

Then she went like "Ask dav to come here la"..then i said "She said she's busy..kenot."

Ya..that's about it. Same old Dramatic Flora Fan with her lazy Garfield eyes i met in Kuching Fest.

Oh n you know..some nenek was selling 3 packets of tissue for rm1. What! so Mahal!

Operator : Hello? Hilton Hotel May i help you?

Me: Hi may i ask do i have to make a reservation for the BBq lunch on Sunday?

Operator: I'm Sorry Ma'am its fully booked

Me: Oh........... ok thanks..

***

Yeah..she didnt even bother to answer my question..just tell me its fully booked...yeah that should cut the conversation short. darn. I wanted to have BBq lunch at Hilton but I can't..i should have made a reservation long time ago but then i wasn't the one who wanted to have the BBQ lunch in the first place. but My mum...because she was jealous that i got the chance to eat at the Saturday's Hi-Tea* whiich was great & fulfilling by the way* weee...they served delicious deserts like they'll never gonna serve deserts tomorrow..man i'm telliing you.kalah Asian Food Channel.

Sigh...I'm still sad that i won't be eating lunch at Hilton tomorrow..It's not just for the food really..it's also for the experience and ambience.I mean common..how often would a commoner like me eat at the Hilton Hotel?

SIgh..i guess I'd have to wait for the 40th Anniversary.. or the 50th Anniversary...*gag* to be able to eat n pay for only rm23 per experience... & how old would i be by then?

Goin' Bananas

Ok. I know i've told dav about this already..but it's just so good i need to spread the good news.

I am not a fan of bananas *ok that's not the news* * my mum usually would have to force me to eat one. Itupun if i would actually eat it..then..hooray.. if not then..no need.

But after watching Nigella's * the woman in Nigella Feasts cooking show* banana sandwich recipe,i decided to give it a try.*not bcos i want to try it but bcos i've Alot of bananas from my parents kebun & I thought, why not? rather than just waiting for them to rot n stench the house right?*

So the point of this post is to tell you how to do it..it's really simple, easy, cheap n bananas are good for you & also i promise you, you wont be dissapointed. Serious! if the banana hater loves it..i bet you'll love it too.

Ingredients:
One banana
Butter *salted or not depends on you*
2 slices of bread
Strawberry jam *optional..i don't have it in my sandwich, still delicious*

Steps:
mash the banana. spread onto bread.if you want to have the strawberry jam you can spread it beforehand. Heat your pan. Put in butter.Maybe 1 or 2 spoonful.up to you.Put in your sandwich.Let it brown .Switch Side. You're done.

What a good n Fast way to start your day. I made this too many times already *psst it helps your digestion* Try it. It's usually gone in no time once i put it on the table for teatime.

The Min Joo Shop

I went to the Carpenter's Street for breakfast Yesterday. Thanks to June, because if it weren't for her, you'll definitely not be seeing me anywhere in Carpenter's Street. So anyway, we went to this really old shop like reeeeeally old shop which supposedly have the best soup in town. Or so she says. She comes here everytime she gets back to Kuching. So i guess it's really that good.

So off we went to that shop on foot after getting the car parked so far away *we were paranoid of not getting any parking space after that, ever. You know how it is with Carpenter Street*

.....n after s brisk walk...tadaa.. here it is!

oh Dont be fooled by its appearance..they serve really good soup n noodles you know. I must admit it myself after devouring into my bowl of
noodle n fulfilling soup.

Grace, I know you'll love this. This bowl contains your most favorite meat of all time.

But the not so good part is, you practically have to wait for your turn to sit inside the shop.

The cooks

So many customers, so little...shop. And once you have a place, you have to wait for them to serve you n place your orders.

Bella has been waiting for too long now.
