Going extinct

XX: What race are you?
YY: Bidayuh from Serian

"...Bidayuh from Serian.." right...saying it like as if I'm the real deal. Well I am but ask me anything more than "where's your kampung?", I wouldn't know. It's sad really..even for me, the City girl whose life only revolves around IT, Astro & so on & so forth. I would love to go back to the days where my late grandfather used to have Kambing *serious!* at his backyard.. & his house's flooring were made of bamboo...so when you walk on it, you have to make sure your feet will not be stuck at certain bamboo with holes in it. yeah..more like gaps between the bamboos..you can even see anything on the ground below. I was blessed to have actually experienced these. But the new generation have no such memories..because most of the Bidayuh's baruk *house* are turning into real houses..boring. *that includes my parents' kampung house*

*part of the made-from-wood with wooden/bamboo floors house..now has been extended into sitting rooms and kitchen..made from cement...those hanging things are called juah*joo-wah**

::before there were refrigerators..this type of cabinet were used to store Ikan Masin, ASssAAaaM*elly, you get me?*, tulor masin,& everything that ends with masin..because no fridge lah..the masin-ness helps slow down the rotting process:::

*these are use to make tarih juah aka the thing that is attached to the juah. tarih means tali*

If i have the chance to build my own kampung house i want it to be like the traditonal Baruk. Well of course with the new modern twist. hehe..can I? I don't know lets just see.. im sure my future kids would not even be pure Bidayuh. *yerr..malu kejap*

Those were the days

Today's view of my late Grandfather's house

* got sofa somemore..from Courts Mammoth..what say you?*

I may look as if I'm not the kind that wants to have anything to do with my race..well you guessed wrong. hehe.. i do mehjeng & i own my own Dayung *woman/girl* Bidayuh Costume, which i have yet to wear because..err where would i wear it? Was suppose to walk around and flaunt it for Gawai but I wasnt around for Gawai.*how sad* I'm afraid it does not even fit me now. It was made according to my 2006/2007 measurement when i was ...err... 4kg lighter. *waaaa*

pretty what..the costume..

My Grand-Mama, yo.. *next time when im that old *with God's will* I'll probably be singing to Flo-Rida's Low(it will be like now's classic 60's by then)

Having their very own Desperate Housewves session. How cute it is to age gracefully..are you with me? (meaning no botox & all la)

or..you want to end up lookin like this isit?

forever young.aka Immortal ...don't scare me wei

or have presley's jocker-like smile forever plasted on your face..akibat daripada excessive pulling of the skin. pretty ka..she used to be wayyyyyyyyy prettier...sigh

Out of the norms

You know ,I'm not active in all those campus' activities..all i do as a student is just, going for classes when i should & then when it's over i go home...

Now,that has been a routine since the early era of being a university student. There are a lot of activities going on in campus, don't get me wrong..it's pretty exciting..they even had a car show last year but i was not interested so i didn't bother. I also didn't give much thought on all the other events held in campus...commonla..my house so far ok! *right..like that's the ultimate reason..=)*

Anyhooooo..

A miracle happened last Saturday. Why? MeDIA (diploma in Accountancy) & BACCs (Bachelor of Accountancy Society) AGM/Meeting was held. And I.Actually.Went. Wow *gag*..

*pat myself on the head*

The last time i went to MeDIA's AGM was when i was in Part 1! That was like...3 years ago! *If i got married then, my baby would be 3 years old now. that's a long time you know*Given the chance i wouldnt go to that one either but being a freshie & all..must give face lar..if not i kena marah.
So..i went to last Saturday's meeting & out of the blue n black, was elected to be the AJK of BACCs. What a shocker. Jonathan on the other hand was elected to be the Secretary. The thing is..he doesnt even know what the Society's name was. *krik krik krik* That's how 'blunt' we r in this whole AGM/clubs thingie. well, not me..at least i know its BACCs.we both pretty much have the same Motto - never go to uni events. And now we're part of the Society? In just one meeting? Padan muka. Who la ask never go lastime right..this is the natijah for us both. hehehe.

And then i had moments of Deja Vu ala Denzel Washington kejap. This whole AJK thingie reminded me of my days being the BOD of Leo Club. What great times we had, right girls? & I'm sure I'll have great moments ahead with BACCs n hopefully will eventually will end up having great testimonials once i finish Uni. kan kan?
The Secretary,... Jon D *sounds like some movie leh..if u make you voice deep n husky when u say it out loud*

Remember these?

Davina was the Secretary. She's always the secretary of something & everything.

Roads

If i drive home as late as 5pm, the Kuching-Samarahan road is already packed with vehicles.

And I'm not even talking about Kuching traffic jams. This is a town road. Not even a city road, already it is jam packed with cars. I think in 5 to 10 years from now the jam is going to be like the ones in Metropolitan KL. waaa...i don't think i want to own a car by then, because my fuel tank will be empty just by waiting in the traffic jams. So have you moments of enjoyment while driving now, while you still can,people..gone are the days where you drive and enjoy scenes like this..

Semester July 2008/November 2008

I started my new semester yesterday. I can't believe I'm already in my 5th semester of Bachelor of Accountancy *3 more sems to go!*. That's 4 years of Uni! it's equivalent to our fourth form in secondary school. But back then life seems to move so slowly & we can't wait to get out of school...but now the time flies so fast u can't even catch up.

I remember one penceramah said " once you've done your bachelor, i can assure you, time flies by so fast u don't even realize it,one day u wake up n found that you're married with 3 kids" Errrk!

I was excited to go to class but at the same time i want to have more holidays. *???* Can i bring my bed to class?hehe. Ohh the lectures have not started yet at the moment. Each time we go to class we'll be heading back home 10 minutes later because the lecturer just want to fill us up with all the drills and 'thrills' of the subject. Fun huh? So each time the lecturer says "ok you can go now, what are you waiting for?" We'll all be heading to the cafeteria to start hunting for lunch even though my watch shows me that it's only 9am. What lunch?

The Parking space is full because most students have their own car these days. It Doesn't matter that the price of petrol has increased, PTPTG *bukan nama sebenar* pays for all that.

Let's go for a stroll and see the environment of where I'm at, 5 days a week.

Youth Floor, where all the youths have their dates at night. Serious

Goin' Bananas

Ok. I know i've told dav about this already..but it's just so good i need to spread the good news.

I am not a fan of bananas *ok that's not the news* * my mum usually would have to force me to eat one. Itupun if i would actually eat it..then..hooray.. if not then..no need.

But after watching Nigella's * the woman in Nigella Feasts cooking show* banana sandwich recipe,i decided to give it a try.*not bcos i want to try it but bcos i've Alot of bananas from my parents kebun & I thought, why not? rather than just waiting for them to rot n stench the house right?*

So the point of this post is to tell you how to do it..it's really simple, easy, cheap n bananas are good for you & also i promise you, you wont be dissapointed. Serious! if the banana hater loves it..i bet you'll love it too.

Ingredients:
One banana
Butter *salted or not depends on you*
2 slices of bread
Strawberry jam *optional..i don't have it in my sandwich, still delicious*

Steps:
mash the banana. spread onto bread.if you want to have the strawberry jam you can spread it beforehand. Heat your pan. Put in butter.Maybe 1 or 2 spoonful.up to you.Put in your sandwich.Let it brown .Switch Side. You're done.

What a good n Fast way to start your day. I made this too many times already *psst it helps your digestion* Try it. It's usually gone in no time once i put it on the table for teatime.
